With the support of the Vehicle Emissions Trust Fund, a "National Website" for Air Quality Monitoring is launched In conjunction with the "International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies", the latest website called "National Air Quality Network" was launched at the Central Environmental Authority this morning (08). The Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, Mr. K.R. Uduwawala, as well as the Chairman of the Central Environmental Authority, Mr. Thilak Hewawasam and many officials participated in this event. This website will quickly and accurately communicate air quality data and information from various locations in the island to the public, which will benefit the tourism industry as well as the health of the public. Initially, information will be communicated for selected major cities and later, air quality information will be updated to cover the entire island.
